About FigureSure

FigureSure is a collection of 220 free calculators: building materials and home projects, mortgages, loans, savings and tax, health and fitness, math, science and everyday dates and conversions. Each one shows its formula, a worked example and, where it matters, the source of every figure it uses, so you can check the answer instead of taking it on trust.

Who is behind the site

Muhammad Qaiser Majeed, Founder & editor. Built the site and maintains it: choosing which calculators to add, checking reported errors and keeping year-specific figures such as tax brackets and contribution limits up to date.

How we build and check the calculators

We want you to know exactly how these pages are made, because a calculator is only useful if you can trust it.

  • The maths is code, and the code is tested. Every calculator runs on its own calculation engine with automated tests that compare its answers with published values: textbook examples, official worked examples and reference tables. There are more than 1,300 of these tests across the site.
  • Formulas are named and sourced. Each page names the method it uses (for example Mifflin–St Jeor for calories, CKD-EPI 2021 for eGFR, the standard loan payment formula for mortgages) and says where it comes from.
  • Year-specific figures come from official sources. Tax brackets, contribution limits, benefit rules, mileage rates and similar numbers are taken from the IRS, the Social Security Administration, HMRC, the CDC and other official publishers. Each page states the tax year or date of the figures it uses.
  • Examples are calculated, not typed. The worked examples and reference tables on each page are produced by the same code that runs the calculator, so the page and the tool can't disagree.
  • We use AI tools, and we say so. The page text, the calculator code and the tests were drafted with the help of AI writing and coding tools. The checks above (tests against published values and official sources) are how we make sure the results are right. AI tools can make mistakes, so if you find one, please tell us; we fix confirmed errors and update the page date.
  • Estimates, not advice. Health, money and building results are estimates for planning. They are not medical, financial, tax, legal or engineering advice, and each page says who to ask before you act on them.

How the site is funded

The calculators are free to use and are supported by advertising. Ads never change the results, and we do not accept payment to recommend products. See our privacy policy for how advertising works on this site.
